I have been an educator for 17 years, having served the majority of those years in the Houston area. My teaching experience includes teaching students in grades K-5 and students at the university level. After serving as a bilingual teacher for 9 years, I became an instructional coach for teachers of English Learners. Following this role, I had the opportunity to serve as a PK-5 Literacy Coach for 4 years. A move for my family to the West Texas area afforded me an opportunity to serve as a Secondary Instructional Coach, providing me experience I hadn't previously encountered working solely at the elementary level. Most recently, I have served as an Instructional Coach Coordinator and currently serve as an EL Coordinator and Literacy Consultant. I have a Master of Science in Education with an emphasis in English for Speakers of Other Languages and a K-12 principal certification. During my time serving as an instructional coach and coordinator, I have had the opportunity to coach teachers, instructional coaches, principals, and various other instructional leaders. I have been blessed with incredible learning opportunities throughout my career, have had wonderful mentors along the way, and I love to share what I have learned with others. I am a mother of two boys and am married to my best friend, Rob. We currently reside in a tiny West Texas town outside of Lubbock with our goldendoodle, Crosby, who we named after our county (Crosby County) since he joined our family when we moved here. I love to spend my free time reading, crafting, decorating, writing, and thrifting!
